CUL was sitting on her bed playing a video game she bought the other day. She was wearing a basic black T-shirt with some white shorts that went down to about an inch above her knees. Her firey red hair was pulled back into a ponytail, as it usually was. She had a cherry-flavored lollipop in her mouth, but she was too absorbed in her video game to notice the taste. Just as she was about to finish the level she was on, she heard some loud voices nearby. She paused the game and looked at her alarm clock. She sighed upon realizing that it was time for dinner. She didn't even feel like eating anything. Oh well... she muttered under her breath. CUL got up and wandered down the long hallway with a plan in mind- to get some food before anyone else got to the kitchen and take it to her room. She definitely wasn't in the mood to eat in front of anyone that day. However, once she got to the kitchen, she noticed that someone was already there. Well, I deserve it. I didn't come early enough... she thought. CUL made herself some pizza, something she could make and eat quickly, and sat down, sighing again.

Rin busted into the door of the Vocaloid Mansion, eyes wide, and sweat trickling don her neck. Today had been quite the day for her, what with her handing out flyers promoting all of the Vocaloids in the mansion. She knew from the moment that she had woken up in the morning that it was a day that she needed some hard work in order to keep her from going crazy, so it was that that Rin decided on doing. It was rather boring at some times, considering most people already knew about the Vocaloids, and didn't even bother to say hello to her as they walked don the street. I should still be grateful that people gave her some time to chat, and even take a flyer. Rin thought to herself, as she slipped off her flip-flops that she was wearing, into the one spot where they always went once she returned home for the day. It took Rin until she stepped into the kitchen of the Mansion to realize that it was dinner time, and that she was indeed hungry. It was a smell that got her stomach growling. Pizza, was it? Rin shrugged, before figuring out that it was correct. CUL was in the kitchen, along with a few of the other Vocaloids, preparing it for herself. Rin didn't have any idea what to eat herself, nor did she have much time to, so she slowly got herself over there to tell CUL to give her a piece. After all the hard work that she did today, and in a way in her benefit, CUL would be smart to let her have a slice or three. Taking an Orange out of the fruit basket on her way over, Rin cleared up her throat. "If you don't mind, would you let me have some of the Pizza that your making?" She asked her fellow Vocaloid, leaning up against the counter of the kitchen.

CUL took the pizza she baked out of the oven. It had lots of sauce, was coated with sharp cheddar cheese, and was topped with pepperoni, onions, and black olives. She decided that she would eat one slice and put the rest in the fridge for later. She was about to cut herself a slice when Rin came over and "asked" her for some pizza, although CUL could tell that she'd be a bother if she didn't get any. So CUL stared at her for about three seconds and muttered, "Fine..." just loud enough so Rin could hear. She then cut herself a slice. It wasn't very big, because, of course, she wasn't even hungry. After she cut her own slice, she cut Rin's. it was a bit bigger than CUL's slice, but it still wasn't very big. She put Rin's slice on a paper plate and gave it to her. Then she wrapped the rest of the pizza in aluminum foil and took it with her as she sat down to eat. She would put it in the fridge once she was done.

Rin Kagamine smiled, a little bit snobbishly you could add, once CUL said with a quiet grunt that it was okay for her to have a slice. "Why thank you" Rin said, watching as CUL cut herself a rather small sized piece, and cutting Rin one of medium size. Rin frowned a little bit at CUL. What was the point of baking such a large pizza if she didn't intend on eating more then that? She didn't say anything as the red-haired girl handed Rin a thin white paper plate with her pizza slice on it. CUL continued to wrap up what was remaining of the pizza, and took it and her own paper plate over to one of the tables to eat. Rin followed, setting the orange on the plate. She took aside on the other side of the table, though directly across from CUL. Something was wrong with CUL, and Rin, being a Vocaloid, meant that she was, in a way, a sibling. And siblings were supposed to help other siblings out. "Something wrong?" Rin asked, raising an eyebrow as she took a large bit out of her pizza. She was moderately hungry herself, and so she had a feeling her pizza would be gone quickly. It was a good thing she had an orange, though.
Rin continued to examine CUL, though she felt a tad bit silly doing so. She knew that CUL always seemed a little bit sulky, and Rin also knew that she was a person who didn't eat much. Another thing that Rin knew quite well was that CUL had never been all that fond of her. This hurt Rin, but what did it matter anyways, how others felt about her, when she wasn't in fact a real person anyways? Rin was though, quite good at getting people to talk, and despite the fact that CUL would be a hard shell to crack, Rin was up for a little bit of a challenge. What else was she to do, anyways?

CUL sat down and started to eat her pizza. She barely finished the first bite when Rin asked if something was wrong. CUL wondered what caused her to ask that. She didn't think she was acting any differently than she normally did. Maybe others can tell if you're in a bad mood... she thought. "Nah, I'm fine," she replied, since she didn't feel like talking about her problems. CUL didn't think this conversation would get anywhere, so her mind started wandering off. She wondered how, even though they were the same age, she and Rin were so different. This led to her wondering how Master was able to put personality in all these Vocaloids who would otherwise be robots. What was it humans had again? DNA, right? Do Vocaloids have DNA? How could that be made? Isn't creating life something that humans think is impossible? Well, this Master has done the "impossible", so why hasn't he received an award yet? This Master guy could probably make more money off of creating life than by making robots that can sing. Suddenly, she heard Rin's voice say something, which made her lose her train of thought. Huh? What? Um... could you repeat that? she asked.

Rin raised her eye brown once again, swallowing her bite of pizza. It was very saucy, she could easily tell, but that was normally how she liked it. It didn't have too many toppings on it, but it had enough to give it the right flavor that she appreciated. Rin didn't enjoy the black olives though, as she had always hated them, so setting the pizza down on her plate, she started picking them out rather absent-mindedly, looking up at CUL. She's fine? It didn't look very much like fine to her. Maybe she always acted this way. Rin didn't know, as she spent a very small amount of her time around the other Vocaloid anyways. But even so, she was curious as this point, as well as a little bit irritated. It was getting late, she had been working all day long, and she didn't intend on putting up with any of this lying. Definitely not tonight.
With a slight scowl on her face, Rin was just about to retort something back at CUL, but was stopped by her speaking up once again first. "Huh? What? Um... could you repeat that?" She asked Rin with a bit of a confused expression on her face. Rin soon had the same expression, puzzled by the fact that she had said nothing. But even so, she wasn't going to forget what she wanted. "I didn't say anything...but anyways. I want to know what it is that is wrong with you. I won't take any of your lying" Her voice sounded slightly caring, but mostly sounded bossy and pushy, the way that Rin normally acted, whether she meant to or not. In this case, she did, as Rin absolutely hated it when others didn't listen to her or do what she asked honestly. She had a feeling that CUL wouldn't tell the truth, but Rin would try acting as calm as possible, if it was, in fact, possible at all. Tonight, she doubted it.

CUL waited for Rin's response, and took another bite of her pizza. She noticed that Rin was taking the olives off her pizza. CUL knew that some of the Vocaloids hated olives, but she could never figure out why. Olives weren't as good as pepperoni or anything, but they still tasted pretty good, in her opinion. Suddenly, Rin started talking. She first stated that she didn't say anything before. Whoops. thought CUL. Rin then proceeded to ask what was wrong (again), and accused CUL of lying. CUL was a bit annoyed at how she was called a liar just because she said the standard response to a question like "What's wrong?". She fought the urge to get up and walk away, as this would probably just draw more attention to herself. Instead, she looked at Rin with a harsh expression on her face and said, "I said I was fine, and I am. Nothing's wrong right now, and if there was, and if I actually wanted to talk about it, I would've said something else." CUL definitely wasn't going to give in to Rin. Even if other Vocaloids do whatever Rin wants when she acts all bossy and stuff, I won't. she thought. It wouldn't be hard. CUL only told people how she was feeling if she wanted to, not because she was told to.

Rin, face now red and rather fuming at this point, gave CUL a deadly glare that, for most others, would more then likely frighten them quite a bit. But with this stubborn Vocaloid, Rin figured not so much. I greatly irritated her that CUL would give such a hasty and sassy response to Rin, even after the fact that Rin was being as nice and polite as she could to the brute. She rolled her eyes, trying to keep as cool as possible, but it was now at the point of no return. CUL had given Rin attitude that was not excusable. Not ever. And Rin couldn't stand it when others thought that it was okay to be as rude as that. But even so, it was obvious that CUL was hiding something, and she was going to figure out what exactly it was that the girl was hiding away from everyone else. With a huff, Rin took a few more large bites out of her pizza, wanted to get all finished up with it as soon as she could and get to her bedroom, which was, as strange as it was, right next door to CUL's. It never occured to Rin before they were next-door neighbors, most likely because of the lack of time that they spend together in the first place. In fact, this may very well be the first time that the two have had a full conversation with each other. This wasn't, Rin realized, the best conversation for them to be having, and was giving each other quite the bad first impressions. But there wasn't anything that she could really do, so with another bite, as well as the final bite, Rin set down the crust of the paper plate, and stood up. She turned to the garbage can, and dropped the paper plate and crust into it. Rin looked back at CUL one last time before she left the kitchen. "I would appreciate it if you would tell me the truth" And with that, the young teenage girl started heading out the door of the kitchen, shutting the door to it. That was all that she wished to say to CUL, and would most likely be all that she would be able to say to her anyways, before she told her anything. Rin wasn't the sort of person who enjoyed being out of the loop of things. Who was?

CUL noticed that Rin was seething with anger and was glaring at her. In CUL's opinion, a red face and glaring eyes wasn't intimidating at all. She fought the urge to roll her eyes. Rin then quickly finished her pizza, got up, turned to CUL, accused her of lying again, and left. CUL looked around to see if Rin drew any attention to herself by leaving. A few Vocaloids looked her way, but most of them didn't really care. Well, this was probably the best time for CUL to leave too. She grabbed the pizza she made and put it on the bottom shelf of the refrigerator. She left the kitchen and went to her room, where she pretty much threw herself on her bed. The conversation between her and Rin was exactly what CUL was trying to avoid, and could've been avoided if CUL had just gotten to the kitchen earlier. She was used to people getting mad at her for saying "rude" things, however. CUL highly doubted that Rin actually cared about whatever problems were going on in her life and only wanted to know because other Vocaloids always answered her questions. Is it really a crime to not want to state your problems to someone who doesn't care, thinks you're a rude liar, and would probably tell them to someone else? CUL didn't trust ANYONE with her secrets or feelings. If Rin didn't know that already, then hopefully she does by now, CUL thought. CUL took out her video game and started playing again. She smiled, partly because she finally completed the level she was trying to beat for a while, but mostly because her conversation with Rin was over.

Rin started walking up the stairs to get to her bedroom, so that she could get away from everyone and everything for a short while. Somewhat because she wanted to calm her mind so that she didn't explode in front of anyone, but mainly so that she could plot on something. Plot on how she was going to get CUL to crack. Rin did, however, believe that CUL wasn't going to say anything anyways, but she had a plan of how to find out about it. Well, not really a plan, but more like a plan for a plan. What she wanted to do was spy on her. After all, she does have a bedroom right next to the red-haired Vocaloid, so it shouldn't be too hard. Maybe the girl would say something in the privacy of her own bedroom that she wouldn't say in front of Rin, or anyone, for that matter. Rin smirked a little bit to herself. The plan seemed perfect, there just had to be this one key detail that would make it all work.... Rin stuck her ear against her nice mild orange painted wall, crossing her fingers that she would be able to hear CUL and what she was doing.
Not so much luck
It was either CUL wasn't making a single sound, or the wall was too thick for her to hear anything that she was doing. With a frown, Rin figured that CUL just wasn't talking or anything yet, so she stayed put for a moment or two more, just to be certain that the wall did or did not work. After a long, silent minute, a beeping sound could be heard from Rin's side of the wall. Her eyes widened, and she pressed her ear up against the wall a little bit harder. It sounded like an electronic sound, so her guess was that CUL was either watching television or playing a video game of some sort. Shoot, she's using electronics. There's almost no way that I can get her to talk now... Rin thought, gritting her teeth a little bit. But with another deep breath, she started coming up with a new idea.
Yes. Perfect.

CUL stopped playing her video game for a little bit. She took out a notepad and some pencils. She groaned at the thought of Rin coming back, day after day, to pester her and pester her until she finally said something. She thought of coming up with some lies to get Rin off her case at first, however... despite Rin's obvious belief that CUL was a liar, she didn't lie too often because lies were too hard to keep track of, in her opinion. CUL knew that Rin's room was right next to hers, so this was an advantage. If Rin got TOO persistent, it wouldn't be hard to build something that would alert CUL when Rin opened and closed her door... But how would she find a way to put something like that near Rin's door without her noticing? Oh well... she thought, this was probably a problem for her to solve in the future. For now, she decided to think and write a schedule of sorts. She would have to get to meals about an hour and a half early and sneak into the storage room to eat so she could avoid passing by Rin's room. She listed a few passageways she found and ways to get out of various situations. Soon, she decided she'd done enough, since she was bored of planning at this point, and she went back to playing her video game. She turned the sound up all the way. She didn't need to hear anything other than the game she was now completely absorbed in.

As she was listening in to the red haired girl playing her video games, she was puzzled when once again, she was surrounded in this wave of silence. Rin raised an eyebrow, curious as to why it was all of a sudden quiet. In fact, it was quiet enough to hear a pin drop on the ground. It irritated Rin that CUL was being so hard to get, and nearly impossible for her to get any information out of her, other then the fact that she was good at video games, or at least enjoyed playing them. Rin herself preferred playing dancing games, as well as Rhythm games herself. But now, she wasn't doing it anymore, it did seem, unless of course CUL had turned the television on mute. Sighing to herself, she tried thinking about a way to confront CUL and get something out of her. Maybe if she went straight to her room, it would be the best. After all, confrontation always won in the end. Along with the fact that if she was in that bedroom, there wouldn't be anyways for the girl to escape. Unless of course, there was a different room that CUL could exit to.
Rin crossed her fingers that that was not the case when she stepped out of her bedroom, digging her toes into the stringy carpet for a moment before walking over to CUL's bedroom door. Rin used her usual knock, which was just five very loud knocks, with one soft one at the end. It was one that she used for as long as she could remember, which was only a year or two... But even so, Rin casually stood there, waiting. If the girl refused to open the door to her, that she would have no choice but to walk in herself. She would give CUL maybe... thirty seconds, if even, before she would do so. It was rude to do it, but not as rude as someone who didn't open the door to a guest who meant no harm.

CUL was not too thrilled when she heard someone knock on her door, since that meant she had to put down her game. Couldn't they tell she was busy playing it by the music in the background? Wait... she thought, Who would come to see her this late anyways? She set her game down and quietly walked to her door. Whoever it was didn't need to know she was there yet. CUL looked through the peephole in her door and saw Rin. All she could think at this point was, Wow, really? CUL knew Rin might continue to ask the same question over and over, however, she didn't think she'd come back THIS quickly. CUL started to panic. What should I do in this situation...? she thought. Then she looked to the right and saw it. The dresser beside her door! A normal-looking dresser on the outside, yet a place to hide on the inside. Forgetting about the game system she left on her bed, CUL silently grabbed her plans for dealing with Rin and slid open the hidden door on the side of the dresser. If Rin were to look for her, she'd probably check the obvious places like under the bed or something. While she was looking, CUL would go out and make a beeline for the storage room. No one would ever be stupid enough to look inside a dresser, since Vocaloids can't fit in drawers and whatnot. CUL sat and waited, partly excited for this mini-escape adventure.

Rin continued to stand in front of the door, swaying her body back and forth. She wondered is the girl would ever come over to her door and open it up for her. After a whole minute or so of waiting, the blonde girl was just about to open up the door and invite herself in. It was CUL's fault that she was afraid of opening the door to the room anyways. Rin wanted to just make chit-chat with the girl for a little while, and then possibly get close enough to her for CUL to want to say anything personal to Rin. It was a bit different to work hard to get people to talk to her, but it didn't surprise her. It was quite obvious that her fame was getting to her head. But even so, CUL's fright was very much going too far, so it would end. Rin could hear rustling around the room, but as she turned the knob, and opened the door, CUL's bedroom was completely empty of anyone. Rin frowned a little bit, and the young girl stepped in, the soft carpet feeling good on her feet.
The room was quite nice, nicer then Rin had expected it to be. As she walked around, the girl noticed that CUL had left her video game on. In fact, the sound was on and everything, the remote controller just laying where she sat. Now Rin realized, and only just then, that she had been fooled, and at this time, CUL was hiding.
Somewhere.....
"CUL. I would like it if you would show yourself" Rin tried, getting no luck, of course. This Vocaloid just didn't want to work with her. Trying to resist the urge of rolling her eyes, Rin started poking around the room, checking each and everyplace that she though CUL might be hiding. She started with the obvious- under the bed. Of course she wouldn't be hiding their, though, as it was much to simple and easy to figure out. When that was unsuccessful, the next spot that Rin went to look for CUL at was behind her television set. There was a gap between it and the wall, so she peered behind. Turns out the gap was their just so that all of the dozens of wires could be kept out of sight. So far this whole idea wasn't going exactly as planned.

CUL heard Rin come inside her room, as she expected. She smiled as she heard Rin look in all the expected places, and prepared to step out and run. This plan was perfect! But... then she realized she wasn't acting like she usually did, and that she was being unreasonable. She was so excited to finally be able to form plans to get away from someone else. It was like bring in a cool movie, however... Even though she was excited to finally be able to come up with escape routes and use the information she found while wandering around the mansion, she was acting scared. This was overreacting to a simple problem. What was the worst Rin could do, anyway? CUL sighed, knowing her adventure was over, and slowly peeked her head out from her hiding spot. Luckily, Rin was busy looking behind the television. CUL quickly got out of the dresser and silently closed the door so it seemed like she was never there. No one must know about this dresser, she thought. She snuck over to the left side of her door to make it seem like Rin just didn't see her when she walked in. CUL hoped it worked, since she didn't want Rin to think that she was hiding, even if she was. "What do you mean 'show yourself'? I'm right here." CUL said, sounding almost as annoyed as she felt. She half-smiled. "It was fun watching you look for me. Now why are you here?" CUL waited silently for Rin's response.
