Rin continued on singing the song, her face looking brighter and more enchanted then ever. She was surprised that all of this joy didn't make her implode. It was a feeling.. a feeling that was so native to her that she didn't exactly know how she was to react. With a smile, she waved to the crowd, dancing around a little bit to the music, following the rhythm and beat. As soon as Rin sung what she was to sing, she listened in as Ala started to sing his line, Sure it was a few octaves lower then what Miku would normally sing at, but he was a male, so that was of course expected. He over all sounded quite good. But there was one thing that really struck Rin as.... curious. Thinking and listening deeper into the young man's voice, it had an edge to it, a sound that confused her, as well as stunned her. It was the sound of that of a robot, as Ala's voice sounded a bit choppy and robotic.
W-Why does he sound like that? Rin thought, and for a split moment, Rin's face faded to a bit of en emotionless look, and didn't even pay that much attention to the singing and the crowd itself. The people who were out there watching seemed to take notice, and they hushed a little bit. Upon hearing the change in the crowds cheering, the blonde haired Vocaloid got herself back in, and tried her best to continue on singing along. She continued a little bit late, but it was better then nothing. The next half of the line was to be sung together, but it ended up being that Ala was the only one singing that line. Trying to crack a smile, she did get one to come out that seemed pretty convincing, but at the time, her heart wasn't as set on the performance, but more on what was going on.

Was the next part of the song, after what Rin made up. The next quick snippet was to be sung by Ala, which Rin eagerly waited. She wanted to clearly hear his voice again, and be reassured that it was just a trick of her brain.
But at the time, she wasn't completely sure.

Ala was already happy, he was singing for people, with a vocaloid none the less. But what Ala saw in the crowd made him even happier than all of that, his eyes were shining brightly and his face looked happier than normal. It was all because of who he saw in the crowd. He saw G. G was Ala's creator, mentor and a big friend that helped shape Ala into what he was today. He is a full grown man being 34 last time Ala checked. G's hair was black with a few streaks of grey in random places, and he was wearing a tuxedo jacket with a regular t-shirt underneath, and for pants he was wearing jeans, needless to say, G's sense of Style is very strange
Ala was curious as to why G was here, and then Ala noticed that G had a piece of paper, maybe it was a shopping list, but he was still within the crowd, smiling. As Ala was singing he noticed Rin had stopped for a second, delaying part of the song. Was she okay? Then Ala sang the part that would have been Miku's if she was singing instead of him.

Rin, still just a little bit dazed, looked around the crowd, wondering if there was anyone singing along. Maybe what it was is that another Vocaloid was singing from the crowd. She figured not one of the well-tuned ones such as Kaito or Len, but maybe Galaco or Ryuuto. But as she continued to glance from face to face, there were absolutely none of them that seemed even a bit familiar to the young girl. Quite a bit discouraged and confused still at the time, the teenager knew that it was her job to make sure that, despite her current dilemma, she would continue performing with her all. Now that Ala had sung is section of the song, it was now the time that Rin sung alone, followed by the two singing in unison with each-other again.

Rin tried her hardest to put her soul in this part of the song, and in the part where the two sung 'yay' together, she leapt into the air, legs up and one of her arms in a fist in the air. She didn't sparkle like she did on a good performance, but the act seemed to fool the crowd. Hopefully though, it fooled the Ala kid too, as she didn't want to worry him, or have to ask the question. Now, though, it was time for Rin to sing one like of her own, Ala following with his.

Ala was looking around at the crowd for the very brief time that Rin's short little solo thing went on. He was still excited and happy at the fact that G was there, at the performance. And it made Ala even happier that G was smiling while he was singing with Rin.
Rin finished up her line, and then Ala sang the next duet verse with Rin:

and when he sang 'YAY!" He shot his fist into the air. Then Rin sang the beginning of the following verse,"If the world changes to the sound of the falling rain outside" He then sang his part, now looking brighter, and happier,"All of us will turn into yellow and blue specs of dust" He was having fun, and he was also hoping Rin was having as much fun as he was, but if he wasn't doing so well, he would apologize after the song ended.

As Rin was singing through the song, her attention drifted off from it once again as she looked back at Ala. His face was bright and sparkling, and not the fake kind of way that Rin almost all of the time did, in order to fool her fans and other Vocaloids. This one seemed genuine, as if he was actually having fun singing for the crowd. Sure, it did give Rin joy to be able to please the watchers with her voice, but very rarely did the joy give her enough spirit to not have to force herself to be cheerful in her performing, and not have to act. It seemed Ala wasn't like that at all, and now that the girl thought about it, he seemed quite pleasant the entire time, taking on the task that Rin gave him with a smile, and acting polite and kind to her the entire time. Now that she thought about it, the truth was quite plain and clear- Ala was by far a much greater person then she was.
As they were singing, he shone as bright as a star, and he was a pretty amazing singer, despite the horribly suspicious and confusing metallic sound in his voice, and the people that were watching them seemed to take all of his energy, and were cheering madly, waving their phones, and even their children, in the air. Rin let out a silent sigh to herself as her back was facing away from the crowd, wondering where she went wrong. Sure, the young girl wa quite popular, but why? This kid had more talent then she did, for certain, as well as much more passion. Where did she go wrong? Feeling a bit discouraged, she still wanted to give this song her all, and she listened to Ala sing his line, before the two of them sung a bit together, before Rin sung on her own. Afterwards, it were the two singing again, almost completely repeared the last part of the song from earlier.

The two of them sang, switching off between Rin singing, and the two singing together. She smiled and beamed at the crowd in her usual manner, but continued to shoot glances at Ala, who was singing and moving with all the spirit in his heart, and so she couldn't help but be just a tad bit jealous of him. As she was made to sing, and without being one of the best, she was nothing....

Ala had noticed that Rin occasionally glanced over at him, maybe she was checking in on him while they were singing, making sure he was okay and still singing, though for a brief second when he looked at her, she seemed sad, maybe feeling down about something, but that look vanished almost as quickly as it came and Rin still sounded as cheery as ever.
Then he sang his parts of the song that came up in the next verse and paused when it was Rin's part.

Ala was glad that he had the chance to sing like this and have people smile as he sang with his synthesized voice, but he also felt bad about it at the same time. What if he was stealing Rin's spotlight. He had originally intended to just help her by passing out the promo figurines, and then he ended up singing with her. Yes, he was definitely going to apologize after the song was over.

The song continued to go on with out there being much of any issue with Rin's pep. She smiled and beamed, putting on an act like no other. Considering the fact that she was feeling quite the bit jealous over Ala made her work even harder then before, it giving her a needed umph to really stand out from him. Of course, she wanted him to be known, as his voice truly was spectacular, but also, she wanted to keep her place at the top, a younger senpai, you could see it all. Rin truly wanted to prove that she was superior, and that this was an honor for Ala to be singing with her, while also doing it with a smile, and trying not to look down upon him. That part was the easiest, as Rin Kagamine was at this point afraid that it wasn't she doing the looking down upon after all....
The crowd continued on cheering the two singers on as they continued their duet, each one of them hitting each and everyone of the notes that they sung as perfectly as possible, racking on more depressing little coins that the blonde haired girl feared would never be able to land themselves in her pockets, but would, as most of the money did go, over to Master's wallet. As if he needed more money, as he currently had 50+ different people giving him cash, while what was he doing? Probably wasting his money on lord knows what, coming up with sad little ideas to torture all of the Vocaloid, as he has done before, for awful reasons. Trying to set the baka Master aside for the moment, Rin and Ala continued on with the refrain, the two singing in harmony together.

At this point, the song was getting closer and closer to reaching it's ending,w ith just a few lines that they had yet to sing. Rin figured that she might as well put on the best show possible, to end it all. So the short blonde haired Vocaloid ran up to the fountain, and took a big leap so that she could stand on the ledge of it, gesturing now for Ala to join her in the endeavor, as she and him both started swapping parts a few times.
Enjoyable
She sang, waiting for Ala to sing the next word. This was the part where all of the singing got a bit annoying, as you got a whole two second break before you had to open your mouth to once again speak. But even so, Rin did love this song, despite the fact that it got little love. It really did need some more.

Despite the fact that Ala felt bad for what he considered stealing Rin's spotlight, he was still having fun, his face still containing the genuine look of happiness despite how he felt. Yes, he dd feel bad, but at the same time, he felt happy as he was also boosting his fellow singer's reputation. Then came the next set of verse's that were pretty much all duet. He still sang with happiness and joy in his voice:

He noticed that Rin seemed a bit happier now, and then back to the song.This was pretty much the end of the song, except for a few more lines that if put together, would roughly make a verse or two. Then Rin sang,"Enjoyable."
Which Ala followed up with," Sorrowful."
Ala then started to wonder about what he was going to do after the song was over. Maybe after he apologized to Rin, and she wasn't busy, he could take her to meet his friend/creator/father type thing, G.

Rin continued to sing along to the song, and for the most part kept in almost perfect rhythm and beat with the song, dancing along to it a bit subltyly, as the song itself wasn't one that you even did a whole bunch of dancing to in the first place. All that she really ever did through out the song was stomping her feet to the beat, swaying a bit, and at some parts raising her arm in the air like a fist pump. Just what she considered to be to enough for the song, which was really one that needed movement for sure, but considering the fact that Ala didn't look like much of a dancer really, she kept her choreography to as simple as possible. She would do a jazz square during some of the parts, except she would make it like more a of a hop then the usual step for the move. Sometimes she would do a half-split, using her hand to stop herself, then jump back up. Rin decided to have a bit of fun with her dance movements. It wasn't really what she was good at, but dancing was still a thing that she liked to do every once in awhile. Besides, thinking about the song, and having her mind on the movements she was doing was a good way to keep her mind off of other things. Though at some points it didn't feel like it was doing that well, in all honesty....
Ala looked as pleasant as usual as they continued to sing the last few lines in the song. He must not of noticed that moments before hand, Rin had meandered over to the fountain, and was now doing a sort of dance at the edge of it, which kinda got the crowd pumped, though not exactly as she wished it would. But even so, at that time, the blonde haired teenaged girl came up with a master plan, one that would be appropriate for the song, as well as be pretty cool to watch. All that she needed to do was aim it right...
Sorrowful
Ala sang his part with the usual, blissful emotion that he had already long proven to have when he sung, maybe even better then Miku did the day that the two of them made a recording of this song together, a year or so back. He smiled, looking back at Rin for but a moment, before placing his eyes back over at the crowd. He seems quite sweet. All us Vocaloids could really use more people like him..." She thought, once again internally sighing as she was singing her next part.
Happiness
Dang, she really could go for a bit more happiness in her life, as it seemed that her entire life at the time was just this one, depressing act. It really was upside down.

Ala was glad that he was able to get to do this. Just getting to sing with another in front of people, but like with everything that was good, It had to come to an end eventually. He would eventually go back to watching cartoons all day, or running errands for G, though he would still produce music, just for the fans. Because with Ala, he was weird. Most people just made people happy so that everyone would leave them alone, but Ala, he was always happy when other's were happy and this had been proven several times since his time of Activation.
Rin then sang," Happiness." That was something that Ala had felt all of the time, but he felt as if there was something missing. Something that would cause true happiness.
Then he sang," Loveless." That's what he was missing. Love, something he didn't quite understand and it took G a few hours to explain what love was. To Ala he explained it as, when you like someone so much that you wish to be with them for a very long time. So the main question Ala had to himself was, What is love? (Baby don't hurt me, don't hurt me....no more) And how do I achieve this thing called love. He understood it, but people around him, strangers seemed to show it differently. Some hugged each other. Then there was this thing where there were people in leather suits and chains with whips, that really confused him. He then thought, I wonder if Rin would be my friend.

Rin stood up on the very edge of the fountain's border for just a moment more, before she decided to leap into the air as she sung her next part of the song, the microphone up to her mouth, while her other arm was in the air in a fist pump. She wanted to give this energy, and perhaps, with enough energy given into this last small snippet of the performance, she may perhaps get the so called happiness, a thing that she wanted to have once again so dearly, Happiness was what everyone desired, sometimes more then money, more then food, more then love even. Happiness is important, and without it you can't even enjoy any of the above things. She wouldn't enjoy singing, which she had to admit, sometimes she didn't enjoy. In fact, there were days that Rin didn't even feel like being "alive" was enjoyable, and wished that she never was. In fact, if it weren't for all of her fans out there, she felt there wouldn't be much of anything left to keep her going. She had no friends. She wasn't a friend, she was only civil. But maybe some day, one day, she would feel happiness again, and be once again happy. But for now, she had singing to do.

The two sang that one part together, while following that, it would be Ala's turn to sing his line of "la's", afterwards they would almost completely repeat what they had just sang, only Rin would sing the "la's" She sung with all that she had, which really seemed to captivate the audience, and they started cheering the two of them on wildly. It felt pretty good to be cheered on, and to have coins thrown her way. But happiness? Likely not. It just didn't feel quite right yet.

Ala was excited and happy. He was singing in front of an audience and he knew the audience was happy and pumped or else there would not be a lot of money of the stage. The white haired male then started to think, obviously they would have to accept the money, it would be rude if they didn't. The main question in his mind was, how was it going to be divided. He honestly thought that Rin should get the bigger portion of it since it would most likely go towards paying for tour buses or airplane fees and what not, but the portion that Ala received, that was going to be split between giving some to G and donating it to various charities, and maybe some to himself to buy some Wc'Donalds.
Then back to the singing,

Now it was Rin's turn to sing the La's. Though it was strange, every time he thought of Rin, he was always wondering, would she be his friend, and what was she doing after the song.

Now the song that the two were performing was starting to come to a close, with not much time at all left in it. Ala had just gotten done singing his quick part of the song where he would sing his "la's", followed by the two repeating themselves again. She smiled, looking at the crowd for a moment. Sure, her smile was very fake, but she wanted to give her fake smile as much life as possible, and maybe looking directly at the crowd, instead of dodging her eyes all over as she had been doing, would be the right way to go. The majority of the people who were watching had lit up faces, probably because many of them didn't have the kind of money to see her and the other Vocaloids in concert otherwise, so it was a big deal that they got to see her and Ala sing today, even if Ala was most likely nothing more then a fan, or maybe a kid trying to start off his own music career. It was nice that she and Ala were making so many people happy, but why was it that seeing other people's happiness didn't make her happy herself? Sure it was a proud feeling, but it wasn't the same joy that she remembered.Unless of course you can't even get happiness of that sort anymore. If that were the case, this whole thing would basically be a bust, including life itself. But even so, she needed to keep singing, it was almost over.

There was but a single word, a single syllable left in her and Ala's performance, and it was a word that she never did seem to use out of song, or at least, never used it unless she would putting on her usual bubbly performances, as she almost always did to make others feel better and more comfortable around her. Before Rin and Ala did both sing that one last, simple word, Rin turned her head in order to look at her singing partner, her eyes dulled, yet wide. She wondered if he felt joy, despite the fact that he wasn't a well known name, or despite the fact that he may not make much money. She wondered if he was happy. If so, how did he become happy?
Yay!
The two sung in sync with each other, ending the song after a short bit of music. The crowd went completely wild as soon as the two were done, and more coins went flying around at the time. By now, the entire fountain area seemed littered with the gold and silver colored pieces of circular metal, and sadly, that brought no joy to Rin, as she figured it would be hard to get away with keeping it so that all the Vocaloids had a bit of money to spend on themselves. She supposed it would be a good idea to give the money to Ala, as he would need it more then she herself would. Smiling fakily once again at the crowd, she spoke into the microphone with a cheery squeal, jumping up into the air. "Thank you all so very much for listening! I hope you enjoyed!" Rin beamed to them, resulting in a few more cheers. She then looked back at Ala, and had an idea. Smirking deviously to herself, Rin turned back to the crowd and continued talking to them. "And give it up for the talented Ala!" He was talented, talented indeed. But even so, there still wasn't something right about him. But Rin just couldn't seem to put her finger on what....

Ala listened as Rin sang her quick, short part pf the song. He then noticed as she looked looked at him for a brief moment. And her eyes, even though they were artificial, revealed at least some of how she felt in that brief moment. She seemed sad, but for what reason.
YAY!
That finished up the song, and the end of the song had caused the fans to go even more wild, and Ala didn't even know that people could get this excited, and Ala would get excited just over a new Episode of Gundam. He had noticed how much money had been thrown on stage. He had heard the clanging of coins as they had hit the stage, but he wasn't paying much attention to them in general. Then Rin spoke up after the song had ended,"Thank you all so very much for listening! I hope you enjoyed!" this caused people to cheer even louder. She continued to talk,"And give it up for the talented Ala!" The crowd had continued cheering. That was nice of her, Ala thought. He then said in to the microphone that he was signing into a few moments before," And give it up for the very Talented Rin for giving you all this wonderful performance Today."
He then said to Rin away from the microphone," Thank you for letting me sing with you, but I feel bad since this was originally only for you. " He paused and then looked at the coins and then at G, who was still by the stage. Ala then said," So, how would you like to split up the money. I was thinking you would get most of it to help with travel fairs and what not. And then there is someone I would like you to meet, if you had any more time to spare."

Rin continued to fakily smile up at the crowd as they cheered, it roaring just the same as she called for a round of applause for Ala, with still a few coins flying their way. It made her feel pretty special that she was getting this kind of love, but obviously by now she was quite used to this sort of thing, so she was barely even phased by the cheers anymore, and had to struggle to keep her always peppy attitude to what the fans want to see. It wasn't really her show, it was the fan's show. For sure it was. Now that Rin had her chance to speak, Ala began talking to the crowd through his microphone. "And give it up for the very Talented Rin for giving you all this wonderful performance today" He said to them smiling gently. The crowd cheered some more, but by this time there were already quite a few members of the crowd that were continuing on with their lives, continuing with their shopping trip once again. Rin couldn't help but smile at this, smile at Ala's kindness for giving her an acknowledgement, despite the fact that it certainly wasn't needed, at her scale of popularity. But it is the thought that counts, after all. Finishing with a bow, she turned away from the small crowd that was still gathered, and then turned to Ala, who starting speaking to her from away from the microphone.
"Thank you for letting me sing with you, but I feel bad since this was originaly only for you" He told Rin, pausing for a moment, which gave the blonde haired girl just enough time to reply. "Oh come on, don't be silly! You were great out there, and I was happy to sing with you" She bubbly replied to the silver haired teenager, then listening to him as he continued to talk. " So, how would you like to split up the money. I was thinking you would get most of it to help with travel fairs and what not. And then there is someone I would like you to meet, if you had any more time to spare." Rin was afraid that he was going to ask this, and simply looked at him, face a bit red and blushing. She figured he could just take it all, as the Master would probably want the money from her if she had it. "You can go on ahead and take it, I don't need it for anything!" She replied as cheerfully as possible, kicking around some coins that were laying on the mall's hard and dirty tiles. Rin then, after replying to the boy, remembered that he asked if she would meet someone. Of course Rin wasn't that busy anymore. After all Ala passed out all of the figurines so she had not much left to do. "And of course! I would be honored to meet a friend of yours" Now that it was all said and done, Rin bent down, holding the now empty bag that used to hold the figurines. With a large swooping motion, the Vocaloid began scooping up the coins with her hands, dumping by the handful into the bag. The bag might end up getting half-way full, very good for this low-scale performance. It might be Ala who had the charm, and brought in the cash. You never know...
